South Western Railway commitment to clean-green Railway station: General Manager P. Ananth
Sakkare Nadu Hubballi:- As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ cleanliness drive was launched by South Western Railway at Hubballi Railway Station on Thursday.
South Western Railway General Manager P. Ananth participated in the drive by planting a sapling in the premises of Hubballi Railway Station. On this occasion, he reiterated the commitment of South Western Railway to make railway stations and railway premises clean, green and eco-friendly by coordinating cleanliness and environmental protection.
As part of the drive, Shramdaan, cleanliness work and horticulture activities were carried out at various places in the railway station. Railway officers and staff voluntarily participated in the cleanliness drive and joined hands in keeping the railway station premises clean and tidy.
Hubballi Division Mrs. Bela Meena, departmental heads, senior officers and staff actively participated in the campaign. Officers and staff enthusiastically participated in sapling planting, environmental cleaning and gardening activities.
The campaign, which spread the message of ‘Cleanliness is our responsibility’, emphasized the need to keep the railway premises clean as well as to cultivate a green environment. The public and train passengers were also requested to cooperate with the railways by not throwing garbage at the railway stations and maintaining cleanliness.
Railway stations are important public places that connect thousands of passengers every day, and special priority is being given to their cleanliness and green environment. In this regard, the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ campaign witnessed the collective responsibility and environmental concern of the railway staff.
This campaign, which was conducted with the resolve of building a clean railway station, a green environment and a sustainable future, further enhanced the Swachhta Pakhwada program of South Western Railway.
