*Newly renovated Alnavar railway station; inaugurated by PM Modi*

The Alnavar railway station in Dharwad district was renovated and dedicated to the nation today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the redeveloped station under the Amruta Bharat Station scheme.
*Modern station at a cost of ₹17.20 crore*
Alnavar station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the South Western Railway zone, has been completely renovated at a cost of ₹17.20 crore. It has been provided with modern facilities including a well-equipped platform, a pedestrian overpass, a ticket counter and a waiting hall in an area of 4500 square meters.
*Simultaneous inauguration of 4 stations*
Along with Alnavar, four railway stations in the state including Koppal, Badami and Bantwal were inaugurated simultaneously, as part of a programme to inaugurate 75 stations across the country on a single day.
*New hope for passengers*
Alnavar, a decades-old station, was facing a lack of basic amenities till now. Now that it has been given a modern look, it will be convenient for students, employees and tourists. In addition, the Dandeli-Alnavar train service has also resumed earlier, which will give a boost to tourism.
*Locals' response*
“I am happy that the station has got a new look. A flyover has been built for pedestrians, so they can cross the tracks safely,” said a local passenger.
